Mrs. Jackson tells about the wrong treatment being provided to the burned men in respect to saline baths and how the two doctors offered to take them to East Grinstead and begin rebuilding their bodies.

Mr. Orvel became a night-fighter pilot with the RAF 256 Squadron. On February 10, 1942, while testing aircraft, Mr. Dove was involved in an accident and convalesced at East Grinstead Hospital and became member of the Guinea Pig Club sharing friendships forged during those years. Mr. Dove married after the war and moved to Kamloops, British Columbia.

Flying a Wellington over France, 'Ray' Tarling crashed and was severely disfurged by the impact. Mr. Tarling was taken to East Grinstead Hospital in Enlgand where many surgeries and repairs to his face, hands and leg were performed. He proudly became a member of the Guinea Pig Club. He returned to Canada, married his long time sweetheart, Elsie, and raised a family.

Shirley Hubbard was born in St. Clair, Michigan. Her family moved to Canada and her father served in WWI. Shirley joined the Women’s Division, RCAF, but her most important contribution to wartime service was visiting and caring for the burn victims of East Grinstead Hospital in London, England. These soldiers would later be known as “The Guinea Pigs.” It is here that she met her husband and became a dedicated member of the Guinea Pig Club. She returned to Canada resided in Mission, BC.
